何晓梅女士是著名琵琶、古筝演奏及音乐教育家，毕业于上海音乐学院，师承叶绪然先生及林石城先生。她出生于音乐世家，自幼随母习琴，先后就读于福建省艺术学院和上海音乐学院。她曾在中国福建省歌舞团担任 18 年专业琵琶独奏演员，并在各类音乐比赛中获得个人演奏一等奖、优秀作品演奏奖及丝弦五重奏组演奏一等奖。她也曾代表政府以优秀琵琶演奏家的身份多次出访，参与演出和公益活动。

Ms. Xiaomei He is a renowned pipa and guzheng performer and music educator. She graduated from Shanghai Conservatory of Music and studied with Mr. Ye Xuran and Mr. Lin Shicheng. Born into a musical family, she began learning music from her mother at a young age and later studied at Fujian Arts College and Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She served for 18 years as a professional pipa soloist with the Fujian Song and Dance Troupe, and won awards including first prize for solo performance, outstanding work performance awards and first prize in a silk-string quintet group. She also represented the government as an outstanding pipa performer on multiple overseas visits, performances and public-benefit events.

移民多伦多后，何老师成功举办个人专场独奏音乐会，并在北美发行两张个人独奏专辑。她现为北美中乐团团长、多伦多中国音乐学院校长。在此期间，她与各族裔、各社区艺术家，以及来加拿大访问演出的中国艺术家合作，参加过上百场演出。

After immigrating to Toronto, Teacher He successfully held solo recitals and released two solo albums in North America. She is currently the director of the North America Chinese Orchestra and the principal of Toronto Chinese Music School. During this period, she has collaborated with artists from many communities and backgrounds, as well as visiting artists from China, and has participated in more than one hundred performances.

演奏风格与教学成果 | Performance Style & Teaching Results

经过多年舞台实践，何老师形成了细腻委婉、优雅而有力量的演奏风格。她的琵琶演奏可用白居易诗句“大弦嘈嘈如急雨，小弦切切如私语，嘈嘈切切错杂弹，大珠小珠落玉盘”来形容。她在主流及华人传媒中广受好评，在琵琶教学方面也成果丰硕。

Through many years of stage experience, Teacher He has developed a performance style that is delicate, expressive, elegant and powerful. Her pipa playing can be described by Bai Juyi's lines: “the large strings sounded like sudden rain, the small strings whispered like private speech; loud and soft notes mingled, like pearls falling onto a jade plate.” She has received praise from mainstream and Chinese-language media and has achieved strong results in pipa teaching.

在持续研习并提升演奏技巧的同时，何女士长期坚持一线教学。她在琵琶、古筝教学方面成果显著，经她教学和指点的学生遍及大多伦多地区，并在国内外音乐大赛中获得奖项。

While continuing to study and refine her performance technique, Ms. He has remained active in frontline teaching. Her students in pipa and guzheng are found throughout the Greater Toronto Area and have won awards in music competitions in Canada and abroad.

何老师还组建了由 20 岁以下青少年组成的“北美中乐团青少年乐团”，开办多伦多中国音乐学院 Richmond Hill 分校，并持续在艺术领域进取发展。她的音乐成就和对中华传统音乐的传承，受到学生和社会各界高度赞誉。

Teacher He also founded the North America Chinese Orchestra Youth Ensemble, made up of young musicians under age 20, and opened the Richmond Hill branch of Toronto Chinese Music School. She continues to develop in the arts, and her musical achievements and dedication to passing on traditional Chinese music have been highly recognized by students and the wider community.

- In 2014, received the “New Style” Arts Entrepreneurship Award. The same year, she was invited to perform in China, was interviewed by Fujian Television's “Strait Art Masters,” and produced the personal feature album “Pipa Master Xiaomei He.” She was also interviewed by Phoenix Fujian Channel and featured in the report “Xiaomei He: Spreading Chinese Music to the World on a Different Stage.”

- In 2015, was appointed as a music adjudicator by the Ontario Arts Council and was invited to perform in Vancouver. She was also interviewed by Canadian City Post in “Xiaomei He: A Wider Road for Chinese Music,” and received the Chinese Media Award.
